Odelia Bridal Studio review: underrated wedding gowns & packages in Singapore

Odelia Bridal Studio wedding review

Throughout our wedding journey, the most difficult & tiring part was probably selecting a bridal studio! There are just so many choices available and it got very overwhelming.

As the title suggests, we eventually went with Odelia Bridal Studio in 2023, which was a friend’s recommendation. We were very satisfied with the services provided but realised they were not often shared about in the Singapore bridal/wedding community.

Hence, we thought it would be useful to share more about this underrated bridal studio in Singapore for those who are considering whether to go ahead with them!

Context: Singapore’s exorbitant wedding scene

We more or less expected that venue rental would cost quite a fair bit, and were pleasantly surprised when Art di Daniele Sperindio cost less than we expected.

However, what completely caught us off guard was the price of wedding gowns in Singapore. We visited and enquired with a few famous studios (The Ivory, Alerisa etc.) and were shocked to learn that rental prices for quality gowns range around S$2-3,000 for one.

And the worst part about it? This price doesn’t necessarily include rental for your pre-wedding shoot, meaning you have to pay even more!

We couldn’t stomach spending so much on a gown, especially after we had already spent so much on our house and renovation.

We did find some other affordable bridal studios but I was not really keen on their designs – found them rather either to extravagant or outdated. Tofu V was (unfortunately) very insistent on not having lace on her wedding gown because she dislikes how it looks and feels. However, many studios would have options where 99% is full-on lace, leaving her with only 1% to pick from.

Why we bought a wedding package with Odelia Bridal Studio

Thankfully, we were introduced to Odelia Bridal Studio and decided to check them out. We had heard that they had very affordable bridal packages and really good reviews.

We were lucky that the boss attended to us that day and saw that Tofu V had her mind set on no-lace dresses (lol). The boss mentioned that no-lace wedding dresses were very difficult to find in Singapore due to low demand, although there seems to be an increasing interest in them.

In the end, she offered the standard package PLUS the option to have a made-to-measure minimalist gown! The only caveat was that we had to decide by 2359 on the same day. After looking at their dresses and their prices, we couldn’t find any reason not to do it, so we immediately confirmed our package with Odelia Bridal on the same day!

This is what was included in our package with Odelia Bridal Studio, and the prices we paid back in 2023. We added a few more items (extra photos, more on that later), so this was more or less the final, final cost:

Pre-wedding Shoot

  • Studio photoshoot
  • Outdoor photoshoot
  • 40 photo soft copies + photo album
  • 2 x wedding gowns
  • 2 x men suits
  • Makeup & hair (+ touchup & change)

Wedding Day

  • 1 x wedding gown rental (made-to-measure minimalist gown)
  • 1 x cheongsam rental
  • 2 x groom suits rental
  • 2 x makeup & hairdo
  • Kua (bride & groom)

Total Package Price: $5388

Odelia Bridal Studio review: what we liked

Although we got a heavily discounted package, the staff at Odelia Bridal Studio were very nice throughout the entire year that we engaged their services.

We were allowed to choose from ALL the gowns available, which we understand some studios don’t allow as there are different price tiers. They were also very responsive in our group chat and often updated or reminded us for upcoming appointments.

This was our pre-wedding shoot, with the gowns and suits that we rented from Odelia Bridal Studio:

This set of clothes was our own

And this was what we rented for our actual wedding day:

1 pair of traditional kua (for tea ceremony)
Minimalist gown with bow detail
Comes with a complimentary veil
Powder blue beaded halter-neck cheongsam
Back details of the cheongsam

We ended up not using the MTM option because Tofu V fell in love with their latest minimalist gown collection. It’s kind of wasted, but both her wedding gown and cheongsam were fresh drops that she reserved very early. Hence, she was the first bride to wear both gowns!

We really liked their gowns and Tofu V received a lot of compliments, especially for her unique cheongsam. The quality was very good and definitely worth the price paid.

Odelia Bridal Studio review: what we didn’t like much

You wouldn’t believe us if we said that everything was fantastic! And to be fair, there were some parts that we weren’t big fans of.

You may have noticed that we didn’t take up the actual day wedding photography package with Odelia Bridal Studio. We found that their photography services are quite expensive as they give very few photos. We didn’t particularly like the touchups either, as there was a tendency to make Tofu V’s arms slimmer – although she really wanted them as buff and muscular as she had trained them to be!

That’s our personal take though! You can view their online portfolio to have a better sense of their photography style.

If you’re feeling the pinch of wedding budgeting but still want to have everything covered for your pre-wedding and actual day, we still highly recommend Odelia Bridal! In a time where everything is so expensive and some studios keep charging extra for the smallest of items, it is difficult to find a studio like Odelia Bridal that tries to cover as much as possible for a reasonable fee.
