Hence, we thought it would be a good idea to go check it out. We wanted to see if the deals are as good as the reviews say at little genius baby mall.

We visited the Little Genius Baby Mall outlet at Tebrau 3 and spent some time browsing all three levels, checking prices and comparing products with what we were used to seeing in Singapore. Little Genius Baby Mall is a large baby and maternity retailer in Johor Bahru selling everything from diapers and feeding supplies to clothes, toys, strollers and car seats.
The Tebrau 3 outlet we visited is spread across three levels, which gives you an idea of just how much there is to browse. The first floor is where you’ll find many of the everyday essentials, including diapers and feeding products. Clothing occupies much of the second floor, while larger baby gear such as strollers and car seats can be found upstairs.
For Singapore parents, the main attraction isn’t necessarily finding unusual baby products. It’s being able to compare familiar brands with Malaysian prices and potentially stock up on things you’re already buying regularly at home.
We saw plenty of Singapore-registered cars outside when we arrived, so this is clearly not much of a secret among parents who regularly cross the Causeway.
If you go to the Tebrau one (which we did), the mall covers 3 levels: Level 1 for baby essentials, Level 2 for clothes, and Level 3 for bulkier items like car seats & strollers.
They stock a lot of reputable international brands, which we highly recommend taking a look at. These include your usual Pigeon, Huggies, Drypers, Philips Avent etc.
Little Genius Baby Mall also have some local brands & others which neither of us have never heard before. These ones, you’ll have to buy at your own risk!
We went around checking prices of items and took quite a few photos to come back and compare prices, and are sharing what we found here with you.
Diapers
This is cheaper in Little Genius Baby Mall compared to buying in Singapore. It really makes a lot of difference if you buy consistently in bulk.
They have most of the big brands here (Drypers, Huggies, etc.) so you should be able to find anything that your baby usually wears!

Formula milk
The price difference is so mind-blowing that we almost thought we were seeing things. The prices in Singapore are VERY inflated!
However, some mummies have shared with the tofu that the Singapore & Malaysia formulas are different. Malaysia’s formula tends to be sweeter, so if you’re not keen on that, do stick to buying your formula milk in Singapore.

Breast pumps
Brands stocked here are limited – only saw some like Mustela. Price-wise, it’s definitely cheaper in Little Genius Baby Mall than if you bought from official distributors e.g. NTUC.
However, you can actually buy these pumps for much cheaper from the unofficial ones like Pupsik… although we won’t guarantee if you get the same quality or warranty!
Baby wipes, shampoo etc
We didn’t take photos of these but managed to compared prices across a few brands while we were at the Baby Mall, and there’s definitely a price difference. We highly recommend buying some (if you don’t have any samples yet) to try on baby, then bulk buying in future.
Baby & mummy clothes, socks etc
Both of us didn’t find any of the clothes good, to be honest. The good-quality, branded ones are still as expensive as Singapore.
You can probably find better ones on Taobao, so just give this a miss.
Carriers & strollers
The brands stocked here are super limited. You can consider buying this local brand called Koopers, which the staff recommended to us.
However, do note that the prices here versus the ones in bigger Mothercare stores in Malaysia are exactly the same.
Is Little Genius Baby Mall Actually Cheaper Than Singapore?
For some products, yes. For everything, no.
That’s probably the most useful thing we took away from our visit.
The biggest potential savings are on products you buy repeatedly. Diapers are a good example. Even if the difference on a single pack doesn’t seem enormous, it becomes much more meaningful if your baby goes through several packs every month and you have enough boot space to bring a few home.
We also found baby wipes and selected toiletries worth looking at. These are relatively easy to stock up on and don’t require the same level of research as buying something like a stroller or breast pump.
Once you move into more expensive baby gear, however, we’d be more cautious about assuming Little Genius offers the best deal. Some stroller prices we checked were essentially the same as those at larger Mothercare stores in Malaysia, while certain branded clothes didn’t feel substantially cheaper than what we could find in Singapore.
Our approach now would be to use Little Genius primarily as a place to stock up on consumables and browse baby products, rather than assuming that every item in the building is a bargain.
What Is Worth Buying at Little Genius Baby Mall?
If we were returning to Little Genius Baby Mall specifically for a stock-up trip, diapers and baby wipes would be at the top of our list.
These are exactly the sort of products where buying in Malaysia can make sense. You already know which brand and size your baby uses, there isn’t much deliberation involved, and you’re going to need more eventually anyway.
Feeding accessories, pacifiers and selected baby toiletries are also worth comparing while you’re there. We bought a mixture of diapers, wipes, a pacifier and toys on our first visit, and we’d happily return for another round of everyday essentials.
Formula can appear significantly cheaper too, but this is one category where we wouldn’t buy purely based on price. Product formulations can differ between markets, so check the exact product and nutritional information rather than assuming that the Malaysian and Singapore versions are identical.
For expensive purchases such as breast pumps, car seats and strollers, we’d compare prices online before committing. A saving isn’t really a saving if the same model is available during a Singapore promotion for a similar price, particularly once warranty and after-sales support are taken into consideration.
What Would We Skip?
The clothing section would probably be our first skip on a return visit.
There is plenty to browse, but we weren’t particularly impressed by the value. The nicer branded clothes weren’t dramatically cheaper than what we were accustomed to seeing in Singapore, while there are plenty of other places to buy inexpensive baby clothes if price is your main consideration.
We also wouldn’t travel to Little Genius specifically for a stroller or carrier without researching the exact model beforehand. The selection wasn’t as extensive as we expected, and the prices we checked didn’t always offer a meaningful advantage over other Malaysian baby retailers.
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t browse these sections. Having so many products under one roof is useful when you’re still deciding what you want. We just wouldn’t make them the main reason for crossing the Causeway.
Tips for Singapore Parents Visiting Little Genius Baby Mall
The biggest tip we can give is to know your Singapore prices before you go. Take screenshots of the products you regularly buy or save them in your shopping apps. When you’re standing in front of a shelf filled with prices in ringgit, it’s surprisingly easy to convince yourself that something must be a bargain.
If you’re buying diapers, check the number of pieces in each pack rather than comparing pack prices alone. Different markets and retailers can sell slightly different pack sizes, so calculating roughly how much you’re paying per diaper gives you a much fairer comparison.
For larger purchases, check the exact model number as well. A stroller, pump or baby appliance may look identical to the Singapore version while actually being a different variant.
We’d also recommend going on a weekday or arriving early if you’re visiting on a weekend. Little Genius can get very busy, and this isn’t the sort of store where you necessarily want to rush. There are three floors to explore, plenty of prices to compare and, if you’re bringing a baby along, considerably more logistics involved.
Finally, don’t feel like you need to stock up simply because you’ve made the trip. Babies grow out of diaper sizes surprisingly quickly, skincare products don’t suit every baby, and preferences can change. We would only buy large quantities of products that we’ve already tried and know we’ll use.
Our Verdict: Is Little Genius Baby Mall Worth Visiting?
For Singapore parents who are already going to Johor Bahru, yes, we think Little Genius Baby Mall is worth visiting, particularly if you need to stock up on diapers, wipes and other everyday baby essentials.
We wouldn’t cross the Causeway expecting every product to be dramatically cheaper, though. The value varies quite a lot depending on what you’re buying, and categories such as clothing, strollers and other bigger-ticket items weren’t nearly as compelling to us.
What makes Little Genius useful is the sheer amount of baby stuff concentrated in one place. You can compare brands, check Malaysian prices and stock up without traveling between multiple stores.
After our first trip, the products we’d be most likely to return for are also the least exciting ones: diapers and baby wipes. But when you’re going through both constantly, those are probably the savings that matter most anyway.
