If you have read our previous post on Taobao 3rd party forwarder, you may have already seen our insane Taobao haul – all 32 packages of furniture delivered on the same day!
We finished unboxing and installing everything in about 3-4 days, and will get around to sharing every single Taobao furniture (yes everything) we got. However, the items that really caught the most attention so far were our dining room furniture!
We initially considered buying dining furniture in Singapore. However, other than the few conventional styles from cheaper stores like IKEA and IUIGA, the rest that we fancied were too expensive.
Hence, we took the risk to buy everything from Taobao and were pleasantly surprised that everything turned out so good! Those who have been photos of the furniture or even seen theme personally also agreed that we clinched a fantastic deal.
Tri-Tone Dining Light
This is a tri-tone light that we really love! We usually use a remote control to change the light warmth depending on the mood we want to set at the dining table.
We’ve seen the exact same light in Singapore, with prices ranging from S$150 to S$300. We suspect it’s imported from China anyway, and we got this for about S$60-70.

Dining Table
We had our heart set on this design quite some time ago as we felt that it flushes nicely against the wall, but has a modern curved edge. It makes the house design feel a little less angular and more comfortable!
We had seen quite a few homes doing this, either to build in or to buy a loose piece from one of the more ‘upscale’ furniture shops.
If we had this built in, it would definitely have cost us a bomb! Buying it loose would also have cost us upwards of S$1000.
The good news is that we only paid S$470 (!) for this beautiful wooden piece that fit right into our dining space!

Rattan Dining Chair
This was actually the most difficult to source on Taobao. Not many shops were selling the rattan chair design that we wanted (not sure why we were keen on it). However, most options were either too expensive or not aesthetic.
it took us a while, but we eventually managed to find a shop with good reviews selling 4 rattan dining chairs for just S$180!
